Exposaroonie Photo Challenge - Silhouettes

Light can be a very challenging thing to deal with you are photographing something. But... as a photographer, light is your friend. You have to learn to work with it, against it, and to manipulate it, in order to get the shot you want.

There are lots of rules for photographing in sunlight, and many different obstacles you might encounter while shooting outside. We are trying to work on an article to help, for lack of a better phrase, shed some light on this subject. For now, we want to focus this week's Exposaroonie Photo Challenge on one type of obstacle.... creating a silhouette: the outline or general shape of something.

Silhouettes can be created by simply placing your subject in front of the sun. Be careful to hide the sun behind your subject thoroughly, or you image might result in a little lens flare. While we just so happen to be lovers of the lens flare, for this challenge, we want to see you create a silhouette with out lens flare.

The winner of this week's exposaroonie challenge will get an AWESOME camera shirt from our friends Brett and Crystal over at the Vital Etsy Shop. Be sure to stop by their store to check out all of the sweet things they have for sale. The winner will be able to choose the men's or women's style and size.

If you aren't familiar with the Exposaroonie Photo Challenge Rules, here they are:

• You may only submit one photo per challenge.
  
• Once you enter your submission, post your photo on your blog or photo sharing site andlink back to Exposaroonie.
  
• The photo needs to have been taken by you, and only you.
  
• You may only submit a NEW photo... dated or originally posted no earlier than today's date.
  
• If you win a prize, you are not eligible to win one again for 4 weeks. But, don't fret, as we will still share your picture.

• We have the right refuse any photo that is deemed inappropriate or that does not meet the requirements listed above.
  
• Deadline: Thursday, June 19th, 11:59 pm
